One day looking on Facebook at the Navy Prayer group, as I did most days, I came across a man asking for a prayer. for answers, on his son whom had passed in 2023. As always, I read, put a care emoji and scrolled on. But, something kept making me go back to that post. I reached out to Mr. Bennett and asked if he would be intrested in letting me add his son to my website real-raw-resilience.com becasue I have a Cold Cases/ Military Missing section. A question I have asked many people whom seek answers or justice. But, this one was different, almost like God kept telling me to help. Mr. Bennett and I connected and had long conversations about the situation. After researching on the case and reading the autopsy and toxicology report. I knew I had to step in and help this family get the truth. Who would want their child to be known as the kid whom commited suicide? No one, but in this case... It did not happen. Cameron did NOT commit self harm. Scientifically proving to be immpossible. So, I (becasue I am a 1 woman show, my husband is former Army, now Navy and is in boot camp til May) decided, and not that all my stories on my website are not important because they are, I just decided I was going head first into this case and give 100% of my free time to Mr. Bennett and Cameron on finding the truth. You know how somethings just jump at you and you feel compelled to give it your all? This is this case. I recieved in 2004 my Associates degree in Criminology. Needless to say I never persued that dream due to many factors I will talk about later. Nothing bad it was 100% my choice. But, I have always been intrigued by cold cases, and mysteries unsolved. It is my lifes passion to help people and if I help just one. Then my purpose is fullfilled.
So with that all being said......I will never forget the countless hours spent watching videos and going through photos over and over, just so I could get a glimpse into the person he was. Cameron inspired me even more through his unwavering dedication to his passions. Whether it was sports, music, dogs or academics, he pursued everything with determination. He was an impressive young man full of life and love. The countless stories I have heard over the past few weeks about the type of person he was makes this journey of finding the truth even more compelling. I am absolutely honored to be able to help Cameron's father in finding answers and Remembering Cameron for the young man he was and not what was marked.
